First Photo

This skirt is the real reason I started this blog. I love the blogsite Everyday Chaos and Bridget was gracious enough to post a perfect tutorial for this lovely little skirt. I made it this morning for a birthday girl. I tried to post a picture of it on Bridget's blog but nothing I tried worked so I figured I could post it on my own blog and give her kudos.

It went together very quickly and was a huge hit at the party. The moms went crazy for it. Definitely a keeper. A matter of fact, my 9 year old Gillian, wants me to make one for her. I'll try to get that done tomorrow and post a picture of her wearing it. By the way, all three fabrics are Amy Butler. Gorgeous stuff!

Just Getting Started

As I have become obsessed with other's blogs, I thought would start my own. I am a sewing mama of four kids plus a handful of other critters (the 4 legged kind). I am also one of the luckiest woman around who found a wonderful guy when we were only 18 and will have been together for 20 this August. Yikes, did I just reveal my age? He doesn't quite get my craftiness but is incredibly supportive and rather marveled at what I can make. I regularly hear, "wow, you made that?" What more could a girl want? Okay, I can think of a few things ;-)

I try to sew everyday, it keeps me sane. I also enjoy many other crafty endeavors... these include beading, pmc, fused glass, mosaics, pottery...
